How are players placed on teams?
All player placement is determined by Cape May Kraken Hockey Club. The information you provide in registration will be used to ensure players are placed at the appropriate competitive level. Further evaluation may be required.
Can parents request a specific team or division?
No. All placement decisions are at the sole discretion of Cape May Kraken Hockey Club.
Can I request my player is on the same team as his friends?
Parents may share feedback, but all final placement decisions are at the sole discretion of Cape May Kraken Hockey Club
Does Cape May Kraken move players between divisions?
Not usually. While many programs “float” higher-level players between divisions, Cape May Kraken is committed to building competitive, balanced teams at each level without moving players between divisions. This approach promotes fair competition and meaningful player development. We will only do this if necessary.
Is placement guaranteed based on current team or level?
No. Prior team placement or level does not guarantee division placement. All placement decisions are made in the best interest of competitive balance and the overall league experience.
Is USA Hockey registration required?
Yes. All players must be registered with USA Hockey.
What equipment is required?
Full ice hockey equipment is mandatory for all participants.
No. There are no refunds once registration is completed.
