G. Dual Rostering 

(1) Players may only appear on one USA Hockey roster with one Association during the USA Hockey regular season - September 1 (or as permitted by the AAHA Registrar) through the end of the USA Hockey National Championship Tournament, with the following exceptions: 

(i) A USA Hockey Junior team as permitted by the USA Hockey Junior Affiliated player rule. 

(ii) AAHA recognized scholastic teams (play in a scholastic league). 

(iii) AAHA in-house and recreational teams. 

(iv) AAHA Affiliate-sponsored teams. 

(v) AAHA In-Season Tournament team as outlined in the In-Season Tournament rule.

Cape May Kraken Code Of Conduct

Welcome to The Cape May Kraken. While we aim to provide a fun program outside of your travel hockey teams or main teams we must set a standard for our organization. The following are a few expectations for our staff. 

Teamsnap: 

• All players and their parents/guardians must be in teamsnap. Teamsnap will serve as our primary form of communication for all of the teams. 

• Availability: all player availability must be marked 48 hours prior to game time. Players that do not mark their availability will not be in the lineup for that game. If you are marked as a “maybe” you must inform the coach as to why so that they can plan accordingly. 

• The Teamsnap chat is for official communication only. Any explicit language or images will result in immediate removal from teamsnap. 

• Kids on Teamsnap: We understand that players themselves may be on Teamsnap. This platform is meant for the parents/guardians. With that being said, we ask that everyone be aware that there may be kids that see your comments. Keep it appropriate! 

Tuition and Fees:

• All players must be paid in full to participate in any Cape May Kraken event. 

• Any player that is not paid by the set due date will be subject to removal from the team. 

• No Refunds: Due to the fact that the club typically fronts the money for league, uniform and tournament fees, refunds will not be issued. 

Uniforms/Gear: The required game uniform is as follows

• All players must wear the Cape May Kraken jersey and socks. 

• Shells: players can only wear Cape May Kraken shells or black pants. No other team shells are allowed. 

• Socks: Cape May Kraken socks or all black socks are the only acceptable socks. No other team socks are allowed.

• New uniforms: Because we order our uniforms in bulk it may not be possible to acquire a new uniform mid-season. Please address any issue with the staff. Any replacement uniform will be at the expense of the participant. 

If any player does not abide by the uniform rules, they will not be permitted to participate

Game Day Protocol:

• Arrive 1 hour before game time. 

• All players are required to wear warm ups or PT gear. 

• Warm-ups will start promptly 45 mins prior to game time. 

• Be ready early! The hour before game time is not the time to sharpen skates, or buy new gear. Do this on your time, not the team's time.

• All players are required to be fully dressed with helmets 10 minutes before the game. 

• Coaches will address the team 5 minutes before game time.

Locker Room: 

• When a coach walks into the locker room, STOP what you are doing and listen. This means no talking, no removal of equipment (no velcro, no tape). Just stop. The coach should not have to tell you to stop.

• This is a coed organization and girls and boys share the same locker room frequently. All players should arrive at the rink wearing their hockey base layers or shorts and t-shirts under their street clothes. All members of the team must have this minimum attire before entering a co-ed locker room so that no player of one gender has the opportunity to see players of the opposite gender in a state of dress/undress.  

• No Horseplay!

• The team will leave the locker room as we found it. No tape or trash on the floor. 

The coach reserves the right to suspend your locker room privileges at any time.

Playing Time Policy:

• We strive to provide all players with as equal playing time as possible, to support development and team cohesion. Players should expect to be put in positions and situations that they may not normally be exposed to on their travel teams. However, in key situations—such as late-game moments, special teams, or playoffs—coaches may make adjustments to give the team the best chance to succeed.

• Goalies are guaranteed to start games on a fair rotation, but their playing time will be influenced by performance and game flow to ensure the best possible team outcome.

Players Code of Conduct:

1. Respect the Game – Players must show respect for coaches, teammates, officials, opponents, and fans at all times. Unsportsmanlike behavior, including taunting, trash talk, or physical altercations, will not be tolerated.

2. Commitment – Players are expected to attend all practices and games on time and give their best effort. If a player cannot attend, they must notify the coach in advance.

3. Sportsmanship – Win with humility, lose with dignity. Players should always shake hands with opponents and officials after games.

4. Follow Team Rules – Players must adhere to team strategies, drills, and instructions given by coaches. Disruptive behavior will result in disciplinary action.

5. No Bullying or Harassment – Any form of bullying, discrimination, or harassment, including through social media, is strictly prohibited and will result in disciplinary action.

6. Respect the Facility – Players must clean up after themselves in the locker room and rink. Vandalism or damage to any property will result in disciplinary consequences.

7. Accountability! You will be held accountable for your actions. Depending on severity this could include missing shifts, missing full periods, missing full games, losing locker room privileges.

Parents and Spectator Code of Conduct:

1. Be a Positive Role Model – Parents should set a good example by demonstrating respect for all players, coaches, officials, and spectators.

2. Support, Don’t Coach – Let the coaches do their job. Parents should not coach from the stands or interfere with team decisions. No parents may approach the bench at any time. 

3. 24-Hour Rule – If a parent has a concern about coaching decisions, ice time, or any other team matter, they must wait at least 24 hours after a game before addressing it with the coach. This ensures emotions have settled and promotes constructive communication.

4. No Abuse of Officials – Referees will make mistakes. Yelling at or confronting officials is unacceptable and may result in removal from the team.

5. Respect All Players – Negative comments or behavior toward any child, including opponents, will not be tolerated.

6. Behavior – Parents must respect rink policies and facilities. Any destruction of property or inappropriate behavior may result in being banned from team events.

7. All Communication Goes Through TeamSnap – Parents and players must use TeamSnap for all team-related communication, including scheduling, availability, and updates.

Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in removal from The Cape May Kraken

Cape May Kraken Ice Hockey Club

No Refund Policy

The Cape May Kraken Ice Hockey Club operates on a strict No Refund Policy for all registrations, fees, payments,

uniforms, events, and programs.

By completing registration or submitting payment, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. All Sales Are Final

All payments made to the Cape May Kraken Ice Hockey Club are non-refundable. This includes, but is not

limited to:

• Team fees

• Tournament fees

• Uniform purchases

• Clinic, camp, and skill session registrations

• Special events and merchandise

2. Player Availability or Withdrawal

No refunds will be issued due to changes in player availability, schedule conflicts, injury, dissatisfaction

with team placement, or voluntary withdrawal.

3. Club Schedule & Ice Time Changes

The Club reserves the right to adjust practice times, game schedules, coaches, or roster assignments as

needed. These changes do not qualify for refunds.

4. Weather & Rink Closures

If the rink or facility closes due to weather, maintenance, or events outside of the Club’s control, the Club

will make every effort to reschedule. Such changes do not qualify for refunds.

5. Program Cancellation by the Club

In the rare event that the Cape May Kraken Ice Hockey Club fully cancels a program before it begins, the

Club may offer a credit toward a future program at its discretion.

6. Uniforms & Merchandise

All uniform and merchandise sales are final. Exchanges may be permitted only if inventory allows.

WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT

The purpose of this agreement to exempt, waive and relieve releasees from liability for personal injury, property

damage, and wrongful death including if caused by negligence, including the negligence, if any, of releasees.

“Releasees” include CAPE MAY KRAKEN, LLC, its Affiliate Associations, other participants, coaches, officials,

sponsors, advertisers, owners and operators of the premises used to conduct any event and each of them, their

officers, directors, agents and employees.

For and in consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in CAPE MAY KRAKEN, LLC and related events

and activities and its affiliates, local association. The undersigned;

• Agree that the participant will, prior to participating, he or she should inspect the facilities and equipment

to be used, and if the participant believes anything is unsafe, he or she should immediately advise a

supervisor of such condition(s) and refuse to participate.

• Participants acknowledge and represent that they are qualified, in good health and in proper physical

condition to participate in skating activities, including but not limited to off ice conditioning, adult hockey,

and charity hockey events.

• Waive, release and relinquish any and all liability for and cause(s) of action including for personal injury,

property damage or wrongful death occurring to participant arising out of participation with CAPE MAY

KRAKEN, LLC, member team activities or the sport of ice hockey, and/or activities incidental thereto,

wherever or however they occur and for such period said activities may continue, and by this agreement

any such claims, rights, and causes of action that participant may have are hereby waived, released and

relinquished, and the participant does so on behalf of my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns.

• Participants acknowledge, understand and assume all risks inherent in and relating to ice skating activities

(off ice conditioning, ice hockey, and hockey events), and understand that said sport and activities involve

risks to participant’s person including bodily injury, partial or total disability, paralysis, and death, and

damages which may arise therefrom and that I/we have full knowledge of said risks. These risks and

dangers may be caused by the negligence of the participant or the negligence of others, including the

“releasees” identified below. These risks and dangers include, but are not limited to, those arising from

participating with bigger, faster and stronger participants, and these risks and dangers will increase if

participant participates in ice hockey and member team activities in a skill group above that which

participant would normally participate in. I/We further acknowledge that there may be risks and dangers

not known to us or not reasonably foreseeable at this time.

• Participant (and participant’s parent(s)/guardian(s), if applicable) acknowledge, understand and agree that

all of the risks and dangers described throughout this agreement, including those caused by the

negligence of participant and/or others, as well as negligent rescue operations, are included within the

waiver, release and relinquishment described in the preceding paragraph.

• Participant and/or participant’s parent(s)/guardian(s) acknowledge, understand and assume the risks, if

any, arising from the conditions and use of ice hockey rinks and related premises and acknowledges and

understands that included within the scope of this waiver and release is any cause of action (including any

cause of action based on negligence) arising from the performance, or failure to perform maintenance,

inspection, supervision or control of said areas and for the failure to warn of dangerous conditions existing

at said rinks, for negligent selection of certain releases, or negligent supervision or instruction by

releasees.

• Participant or participant’s parent(s)/guardian(s) agree, if any claim for participant’s personal injury or

wrongful death is commenced against releasees, he/she shall defend, indemnify and save harmless

releasees from any and all claims or causes of action by whomever or whatever made or presented for

participant’s personal injuries, property damage or wrongful death.

Participant and/or participant’s parent(s)/guardian(s) acknowledge that they have been provided and have

read the above paragraphs and have not relied upon any representations of releasees, that they are full

advised of the potential dangers of ice hockey and understand these waivers and releases are necessary to

allow amateur ice hockey to exist in its present form.

• Participant and/or participant s parent(s)/guardian(s) acknowledge that they may be photographed and/or

videotaped while participating in CAPE MAY KRAKEN, LLC sponsored events and this media is the property

of CAPE MAY KRAKEN, LLC to be used at their discretion for marketing/advertising purposes. If participant

and/or participants wish to not be photographed and/or videotaped, they must let staff know prior to the

start of event.

• If the law in any controlling jurisdiction renders any part of this agreement unenforceable, the remainder

of this agreement shall nevertheless remain enforceable to the full extent, if any, allowed by controlling

law. This agreement affects your legal rights, and you may wish to consult an attorney concerning this

agreement.

CONSENT FOR MEDICAL ATTENTION OR TREATMENT

I certify that I, the member, or I, the parent/guardian of said participant, give my consent to CAPE MAY KRAKEN,

LLC where the activities are taking place and their staff and volunteers, to obtain medical care from any licensed

physician, hospital, or clinic, including transportation and emergency medical services, for myself/ourselves and/or

said participant for any injury that could arise from participation in these activities.

I / WE HAVE READ THE ABOVE WAIVER AND RELEASE, UNDERSTAND THAT I / WE GIVE UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS

BY SIGNING IT AND SIGN IT VOLUNTARILY.
