This 3v3 draft-style tournament promises fast-paced, competitive hockey and a fun weekend for all players.

📋 Tournament Format

Draft-Only Tournament — no teammate requests accepted
8U, 10U/12U, 14U and 16U/18U divisions (Mites are Friday only)
Teams: 9 skaters + 1 goalie per team
Teams will be evenly divided by skill and level of play
Teams selected by the club (teams will be announced after registration closes)
Balanced, competitive play.

Who's Colton?

Six year old Colton Einstein is a beloved member of our hockey community and the son of Andrew and Jill Einstein, and brother to Jake and Harlan.

After suffering a seizure, doctors discovered a mass in Colton's brain. A biopsy later confirmed that he has a high-grade glioma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. While his medical team continues additional testing and works to determine the best path forward, Colton and his family are facing an incredibly difficult road ahead.

The Cape May Kraken Charity 3v3 Tournament was created to bring the hockey community together in support of Colton and the Einstein family. Every player, volunteer, and fan helps show them they are not facing this fight alone.

Divisions:

8U Mite Division - Open to birth years 2018 - 2020 (must have some hockey experience) **Friday Only**

10U/12U Division - Open to birth years 2014 - 2017 (this is a combined division and all teams will be divided equally)

14U Division - Open to birth years 2012 & 2013

16U/18U Division - Open to birth years 2008 - 2011 (this is a combined division and all teams will be divided equally)

🕒 Arrival Time

Please plan to arrive at least 45 minutes before your first scheduled game.
Players should be ready and dressed 10 minutes prior to puck drop.

📝 Player Check-In

All players must check in to receive their tournament jersey.

Location: Registration table at the Gaudreau Rink, Hollydell Ice Arena
Required for all players
Must be completed at least 30 minutes prior to your first game

⚡ Game Rules

Fast-paced, no faceoffs
After a goal, scoring team retreats to blue line until opposing team enters neutral zone
No checking for 8U, 10U and 12U divisions (USA Hockey body contact rules apply for older divisions)
Penalties:
- Minor → penalty shot (all players line up behind shooter)
- Major → automatic suspension

⏱ Game Schedule & Structure

4-Game Guarantee: 3 round-robin games + Championship or Consolation game
Game Length: 30 minutes (running clock)
